What is the problem?

I know the learning gap is real and I know that students have different learning styles. My question is: are the two are connected? I think they do have a correlation.
The way schools look at how well a student has learned is through standardized testing, the standardized tests can adequately demonstrate achievement for some students, but not for others. My hypothesis is that students with different learning styles also have different testing styles. I believe that learning styles are an unfair contributor to the achievement gap because just like all students don’t have the same learning styles, all students don’t test the same. My goal for my research is to find out all of the contributors to achievement gap and find solutions on how to decrease it. I also want to look into government sponsored solutions like The No Child Left Behind Program and see what kind of effects they had on the gap.
